A UNIQUE LOBI THIL FIGURE FROM BURKINA FASO W. AFRICA ( No 714 ) SHIELDS It’s believed that it isAn artistic Thil figure from the Lobi people of Burkina Faso, west africa. Has interesting form. The head is bowing forward. The shape of the head is also unusual almost like an alien, with stylised features that look otherworldly. The cowrie shell shaped eyes sit low down on the face, below the large rounded forehead. The patina is mottled with sone surface erosion from ceremonial libations. The legs are worn away at the legs.
