While a number of the cards from this set have aged poorly (looking at you, Skyshroud Behemoth), a number were notable threats at that time but dont quite make the cut on this modern value-based list: Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero was the engine for Rebel decks from this era, Saproling Burst slotted perfectly into Fires of Yavimaya decks (and also formed an instant-win combo with Pandemonium), and Rising Waters fueled a brutal control deck alongside the various Stax pieces and counterspells from sets of this era
Red Cards Red has a total of eight cards that can create Blood Tokens but only two cards that can take advantage of having Blood Tokens on the battlefield
However, most players run 38-40 so they dont miss land drops
So be sure to keep an eye on this Saga, if you plan on running an all-Elves deck this season
The three sets that make up this series are already skyrocketing in price, and theyre only going to keep going up
If you want a Jeskai commander, the Counter Intelligence deck boosts artifacts and proliferates counters (hopefully some weird ones), and does include a famous, yet limited counterspell
