Its not easy to play aggro in Commander due to the sheer amount of life you have to take down, but that doesnt mean its not possible, or that its not good fun
A market price of $226.26 on TCGPlayer certainly reflects the card's desirability, although some listings go as low as $215
The life siphon is sometimes enough to finish a player off and if you flicker it, you enter a new age of the game

Trample is a great gift but you'd want to really focus on building around +1/+1 counters and I think of that as more of a Simic strategy than a Gruul one
This, at least in part, probably explains the higher deck price, although to be fair, if Legacy is your primary format, new players have to buy a Legacy deck if they want to play, so the comparison to Magic's Standard seems reasonable
