It get's to run a lot of high CMC tutors and interesting cards not found in other black cEDH decks thanks to K'rrik's unique form of "mana ramp"

Out of the box, it unfortunately struggles against some of the more well-rounded starter decks that have a bit more utility

That being said, the Emerald/Steel is still a very good deck and very fun to play

If youre new to trading card games, or if you want to experience the game with a deck designed and test

It functions slowly enough to not take over the game, but its combination of defense and inevitability make for a solid card without being broken.

This is already true almost all of the time, but if you manage to engineer a game state involving Floral Spuzzem and R&D's Secret Lair, you'll be glad you have this
