mtg card filter Essence (Preston Poulter) (SB) [Pro Tour Collector Set] Multicolored spells cost up to 2 less to cast. Magic the Gathering Invasion Rare

You can get extra combat steps on landfall triggers and buff your creatures

With the third lore counter, it transforms into Visions of the Unspeakable

They can move between zones just like any other card and continue to exist for the duration of the game

The way this card handles countering spells in red is precisely how you would expect it to- by allowing the controller of the countered spell to cast a random spell instead

That said, finding easy on-ramps for new players to get into the format can be a little difficult, as even the most budget-friendly Commander decks still take a good amount of time and effort to pull together

It costs so much not because of the first strike ability and its 2/3 power and toughness, but because of its activated tapped ability
