I really enjoyed playing this card on Arena in decks that included cards like Awaken the Honored Dead, Fangkeeper's Familiar, and Rakshasa's Bargain, as ways to fuel the graveyard and get value off of it
The Lamp did see some small amount of play and I think this one is on the cusp of playability as well
Their return in Outlaws of Thunder Junction heralded a new use for Deserts, not only because there were just more of them to work with, but also because that set included Desert Bloom, a Commander precon using Deserts as a backdrop to a landfall deck
What Ive found in my own personal experience is that once I passed the 100 win mark (currently 145-4 right now!) I started facing much higher quality opponents
Its a lot of work, but the payoff is spectacular
