While some Prison decks oppress gameplay by making it (nearly) impossible for an opponent to play cards and others make a web of permanents that negate potential plays, Stasis largely maintains control by making the very few spells that can be played by the opponent fruitless because a counterspell stops them, and then by the time the next relevant spell can be played, there is yet another counterspell
Although I believe the emerge trigger is one of the most powerful abilities in recent memory, Decimator of the Provinces may be too expensive for Standard
Its even quite common to tap three creatures to cast a Knight and Surge Bushwhacker on the same turn you wont attack with three 1/1s, but a hasty 5/4 will compensate you for your losses
By itself, this can easily be Destroy target creature
Citadel Siege gives the player two options, depending on the tactic: put two +1/+1 tokens on your own creature at the beginning of the combat phase, or tap one of your opponents creatures at the beginning of the combat phase
