Witherbloom, the Balancer Affinity for creatures first showed up on a simple 4/4 with vigilance and that Argivian Phalanx costs two less mana than Witherbloom, the Balancer which is a stronger creature and grants a huge cost reduction and will straight up give you nearly free colorless instants and sorceries like Warping Wail or Skittering Invasion

While one mana is pretty easy to pay, the ward effect has the potential to keep your creature protected across several turns, or at least tax your opponent so they cant do multiple things in a turn

As your average nonland CMC climbs towards 2.25, go up to 24

Try to cast these when the cards mana value generates an experience counter so that each card gives you two counters

The one drawback to its massive 320 damage attack is that Emboar also does 60 damage to itself every time it uses Crimson Blast
