Putting Double-Faced Cards in Your Deck You have two options when putting a double-faced card in your deck: You can play with opaque card sleeves (you may already do this)
While a 1/1 might not be much to write home about, as soon as you get ten permanents in play and you get the City's Blessing, all your Saproling creatures get +2/+2 and suddenly become 3/3 threats
If the growing army of Zombies can't be killed, they'll become impossible to deal with
Red, White and Black are its colours and, unsurprisingly, Caesar, Legions Emperor, is the Commander here
This is why these cards were powerful but not really problematic when they were legal in Standard but were dramatically format-warping in Legacy
Thanks to their many forms throughout Magics storied history, token decks have seen frequent play from casual circles to top tournament tables and can still be found in many formats today
