Neither would be out of place in a cube setting and both are better than the 4th and 5th placed cards for some of the other colours
Before the FAQ update, if you summoned a minion by an effect ( Mother Nature , or Boneyard for example), as long as that minions cost matched the counters on The Immortal Throne a player would draw a card, and The Immortal Throne would get a counter
