The real deal for ripasso
Layered aromas burst from the glass
The bouquet entices with floral notes
It’s aromas remind me of a carrot orange creamsicle stirred into a cup of hibiscus tea
giving the wine a long-lasting and elegant finish
Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Clos Windsbuhl, Alsace, France 2022 Azienda Agricola Silvio Grasso The real deal for ripassoPinot gris has the reputation of being easygoing, but this dry pinot gris from Alsace has enormous energy and vitality. The staggering citrusy juiciness electrifies the super concentrated, medium bodied palate. At this stage in the wines very long life, the finish is a wild ride thanks to the chalky intensity. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2026. James Suckling
