Moon Rising Behind Pines | Carl Gustav Carus | 19th Century Size:11"x14" casting down a spectral beamIn this quiet nocturnal scene, Carl Gustav Carus captures the moment a glowing full moon rises behind a stand of tall pine trees. The dark silhouettes of the branches cut across the moons warm light, creating a striking contrast against the deep blue evening sky. The stillness of the forest and the soft lunar glow evoke a contemplative, almost mystical atmosphere typical of German Romantic landscape painting. Print: A premium quality heavyweight
